Jamal Mourad, DO, FACOG, serves as the Associate Program Director for the Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Mayo Clinic Arizona. He is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist dedicated to advancing women's health through state-of-the-art surgical techniques.Dr. Mourad completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Rochester in New York before earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine / New York Institute of Technology (NYCOM/NYIT). He subsequently completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.His clinical expertise focuses on minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS), utilizing advanced robotic and laparoscopic techniques to manage complex conditions such as endometriosis and uterine fibroids, and performing complex hysterectomies. Dr. Mourad also has a special interest in the surgical management of uterine niches (isthmoceles) and performs transabdominal cerclage (TAC) procedures.In his leadership role within the fellowship program, Dr. Mourad is committed to the education and mentorship of future specialists in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
