Dr Marcello Ceccaroni accomplished his residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2003 at the University of Bologna, Italy, and obtained his PhD in 2008 at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, (Policlinico A. Gemelli - Rome, Italy) with a specific interest in Molecular Pathology in Gynecological Oncology. From June 2014 to date, he has been Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gynecological Oncology and Minimally Invasive Pelvic Surgery, IRCCS Sacro Cuore - Don Calabria Hospital (Negrar di Valpolicella - Verona, Italy). He is nationally and internationally renowned for his research, academic and clinical achievements in the fields of deep endometriosis management, gynecological oncology, laparoscopic nerve-sparing radical surgery for deep endometriosis and pelvic cancer, and laparoscopic pelvic neuro-gynecologic surgery. He is known as the creator of the new laparoscopic nerve-sparing technique for the eradication of deep endometriosis with rectal and parametrial resection, known worldwide as "The Negrar Method". He is President, Founder and Chairman of the International School of Surgical Anatomy (ISSA), Negrar di Valpolicella, Verona, Italy. From January 2017 to December 2018 he was a member of the Board of Directors of AAGL (Advancing Minimally Invasive Gynecology Worldwide).
