Dr. Steven Young MD, PhD, is the F. Bayard Carter Distinguished Professor and Director of the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Division in the Duke department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, where he also serves as a clinician, educator, and translational research scientist. He obtained his MD and PhD at the University of Miami in 1991, having done PhD work in Miami and at the Oregon Primate Center. He completed his residency at Yale and fellowship at UNC. He has won awards for clinical care, research, and teaching and has contributed to over 140 papers as well as numerous book chapters, reviews, and commentary articles, as well as six patents. He is currently the principal investigator on an NIH-funded P50 Center related to endometriosis. Dr. Young has also served in leadership roles for national and international professional organizations, including as the President of the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (SREI). He served on the executive board of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the Executive Committee of the Society for Assisted Reproduction (SART). He has served as a reviewer and/or editorial board member for many journals, and is currently on the editorial board of Fertility and Sterility Reviews.
