Dr. Georgine Lamvu is a gynecologic surgeon and expert in chronic pelvic pain. She earned her undergraduate and medical degrees from Duke University, completed her Ob‚Gyn residency and a fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy and Pelvic Pain at UNC Chapel Hill, and holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from UNC. Currently, Dr. Lamvu is Professor of Ob‚Gyn at the University of Central Florida and a pelvic pain and minimally invasive surgery specialist at the Orlando VA. She also serves as Director of the VA's National Coordinating Center for Advanced Fellowships in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and Director of the Certificate Program in Clinical Research. She has authored over 70 peer‚reviewed publications on endometriosis, vulvodynia, pelvic pain, and minimally invasive gynecology, and played a key role in developing global guidelines, including the FIGO‚IPPS classification of chronic pelvic pain. A respected educator and invited lecturer, Dr. Lamvu has held multiple national leadership positions, including Past President and Board Chairman of the International Pelvic Pain Society. She serves as a national subject matter expert in complex benign gynecology for the VA Office of Women's Health and is dedicated to advancing research, education, and compassionate, evidence‚based care for individuals with chronic pelvic pain.
