Description: This course provides a comprehensive and practical overview of pelvic pain in gynecology, one of the most complex and challenging clinical problems in women's health. Participants will explore the multifactorial causes of acute and chronic pelvic pain, including gynecologic, urologic, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, and neuropathic conditions, with a special focus on endometriosis, pelvic floor dysfunction, and postoperative pain syndromes. The course will review current diagnostic tools, including clinical assessment, imaging modalities, minimally invasive techniques, and the role of multidisciplinary evaluation. Evidence-based medical, surgical, and interventional treatment options will be discussed, highlighting indications, outcomes, and limitations of each approach. Special attention will be given to clinical dilemmas, such as pain without clear pathology, recurrent or persistent pain after surgery, and balancing symptom relief with fertility preservation and quality of life. Through case-based discussions, participants will gain practical strategies to optimize diagnosis, personalize treatment plans, and improve patient- centered outcomes in women suffering from pelvic pain.

Learning Objectives: At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:

  1. Recognize the diverse and multifactorial causes of pelvic pain in gynecology and apply appropriate diagnostic tools for accurate evaluation;
  2. Select evidence-based medical and surgical treatment strategies and make informed decisions in complex or ambiguous clinical cases and
  3. Support patient-centered care through multidisciplinary collaboration, balancing symptom relief, fertility considerations, and quality of life.
