Dr Mauricio Abrao completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of S£o Paulo in 1988. He is currently the Division Head of Gynecology at Hospital Benefic™ncia Portuguesa de Sao Paulo, Program Director of its 3-year fellowship program in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and the Director of the Endometriosis Division at the University of Sao Paulo. Dr. Abrao has over 210 publications in peer-reviewed journals (Google H index of 46). Dr Abrao has actively participated in multiple national and international societies having served as founder and president of the Brazilian Society of Endometriosis, board member of AAGL, World Endometriosis Society and SEUD (Society of Endometriosis and Uterine Disorders), President of the 2014 World Congress on Endometriosis and Honorary President of the meetings Endometriosis2017 and Endometriosis2021 in Italy. He was the AAGL President (2022). In 2012, in collaboration with the students of University of Sao Paulo Medical School, he established the "Expedißao Cir∫rgica", an annual surgical mission that brings high quality laparoscopic and vaginal surgeries to remote areas of Brazil.
