Dr. Tarek Khalife, M.D., is a board-certified gynecologic surgeon and Vice Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mayo Clinic Health System. He is also the chair of the surgical and procedural quality subcommittee. With over 20 years of experience, he specializes in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopy, robotic-assisted procedures, and vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (VNOTES). His clinical focus includes complex gynecologic conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, pelvic pain, uterovaginal prolapse, and urinary incontinence. Dr. Khalife earned his medical degree from Beirut Arab University and completed residencies at the American University of Beirut Medical Center and Henry Ford Health System–Wayne State University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and holds subspecialty certification in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Khalife is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. He is actively involved in surgical education and research, with publications addressing intraoperative safety and surgical quality, genitourinary pain syndromes, and endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia. Dr. Khalife is committed to advancing gynecologic surgery through innovation, collaboration, and mentorship. His approach emphasizes precision, patient education, and shared decision-making. Outside of medicine, he enjoys biking, swimming, camping, and cooking Lebanese cuisine.
