Speaker Bio
I am a lifelong AAGL member who trained under Dr. Franklin Loffer in Phoenix Arizona at the University of Arizona Integrated Residency in Ob Gyn . There my career long love of Minimally Invasive Surgery began. Mastering hysteroscopy and laparoscopy early in my career I began robotic surgery on the first "Standard" platform in Austin Texas as soon as it was FDA approved for gynecologic surgery. In the following years I operated ,taught ,and run simulations on the next generations of Robotic platforms including the recent haptic feedback platform : training many gynecologic residents and now multiple MIGS fellows. Currently I am the MIGS Division Director at UT Dell School of Medicine in Austin Texas where I serve as Department Vice Chair of Clinical Integration as well as Associate Program Director for the MIGS Fellowship and the Ob Gyn Residency . My MIGS practice is focused on complex endometriosis and adenomyosis as well as isthmocele and complex fibroid care .I direct our Department Integrated Practice Unit , a multi disciplinary clinic for Chronic Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis care. My current research involves Mass Spectometry signatures of endometriosis and adenomyosis tissues contrasted with those of eutopic endometrium .This work is focusing on unique protein and lipid profiles on Mass Spec analysis in collaboration with Dr. Livia Eberlin . I am honored to be speaking and Co Chairing our Robotic Educational Course and excited about this upcoming conference in Vancouver. I look forward to a fabulous meeting of collaboration and idea sharing and seeing so many members of our International organization.
