Ted Anderson is the Betty and Lonnie S. Burnett professor of ObGyn and Vice Chair for Faculty Development at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He earned a doctorate in anatomy and cell biology from Vanderbilt University and completed research fellowships in molecular biology (Baylor) and reproductive endocrinology (Jones Institute at Eastern Virginia Medical School). He returned to Vanderbilt for his medical degree and completed an internship in pathology, a residency in ObGyn, and a fellowship in reproductive pelvic surgery. Appointed gynecology division director, he established a MIGS fellowship in 2005, was founding faculty for the APGO Surgical Education Scholars program, and was a co-developer of the EMIGS skills assessment. He is a past president of ACOG and the FMIGS Board and is the current Vice President of AAGL. His interests include intra-uterine surgery, abnormal uterine bleeding, alternatives to hysterectomy, and the impact of technology on medicine and society.
