What keeps you up the night before (or the night after) a difficult vaginal surgery? Getting adequate exposure? Challenging anterior or posterior entries? Operating high in the pelvis? Vaginal morcellation? Come learn some tips, tricks, pearls and pitfalls to set yourself up for success and stay out of trouble. Surgeons are only human, and our subjects are imperfect too, so we will also discuss how to regain hemostasis when things go awry and how to repair injuries vaginally when the inevitable happens.
Learning Objectives: After attending this session, the participant will be able to: 1) Recognize anatomic landmarks and employ techniques to avoid inadvertent transvaginal injuries; 2) Utilize available resources to facilitate safe vaginal surgical practice (ICG, LAVH, Morcellation); and 3) Optimize your toolkit for vaginal hemostasis.
