Director of the Center for Endometriosis, Neuropelveology, and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Santa Joana Hospital and Maternity in São Paulo, Brazil. He leads a team of gynecologic surgeons based in São Paulo, Londrina, and Rio de Janeiro, focused on the surgical management of complex pelvic and extrapelvic endometriosis. His group has built one of the world's largest surgical series of diaphragmatic and pericardial endometriosis resections. He has published extensively in international journals and lectures regularly at major international congresses. He is internationally recognized for his contributions to advanced laparoscopic surgery and complex endometriosis excision. His work has been recognized with the Robert B. Hunt Award (JMIG, 2008–2009) and the Carlo Romanini Award (AAGL, 2018) for the first laparoscopic surgical treatment of pericardial endometriosis.
