Ted Anderson is the Betty and Lonnie S. Burnett professor and vice chair for faculty development in the Department of ObGyn at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He is a former president of ACOG, the Board of Directors for FMIGS, and Immediate Past President of AAGL. Dr. Anderson earned his PhD in anatomy and cell biology from Vanderbilt and completed research fellowships in molecular biology (Baylor) and reproductive endocrinology (Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School). He subsequently received his medical degree and completed an internship in pathology, a residency in obstetrics and gynecology, and a fellowship in reproductive pelvic surgery (SRS/ASRM) with Dr. James Daniell. After a brief time in private practice, he returned to Vanderbilt as director of gynecology and founded a MIGS fellowship in 2005. Dr. Anderson was founding faculty for the APGO Surgical Education Scholars program and was a co-developer of the EMIGS surgical skills simulation and assessment components approved by ABOG as an element for board certification in ObGyn. His clinical and research interests include minimally invasive surgery, intra-uterine (hysteroscopic) surgery, abnormal uterine bleeding, and the impact of technology on medicine and society.
