Join Dr Rosanne Kho, Professor and Chair of Ob Gyn at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix and Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, for an engaging session on reimagining how we teach complex gynecologic surgery in the OR. A nationally recognized surgeon, educator, and academic leader, Dr Kho brings deep expertise in complex pelvic surgery, MIGS, and vaginal surgery. She has held major leadership roles in surgical education, guideline development, and academic gynecology, including service as AAGL Secretary-Treasurer, Chair of AAGL Practice Guidelines Committee and past Senior Editor for JMIG.In her lecture, "Innovating Intraoperative Teaching: Rethinking how we Teach Complex Pelvic and Vaginal Surgery," Dr Kho will challenge traditional models of OR teaching and explore how educators can better cultivate surgical judgement, operative autonomy, anatomy-based decision-making, and team-based learning. Drawing from her experience as a surgeon, mentor, and educator, she will offer practical strategies for moving beyong step-by-step instruction toward deliberate coaching that prepares trainees for the complexity, uncertainty, uncertainty, and responsibility of advanced pelvic and vaginal surgery.
