Megan R. Billow, DO, is the Quality and Patient Safety Officer for Gynecologic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, where she oversees quality across gynecologic surgery and leads system-wide patient safety initiatives. She also serves as Associate Program Director of the Complex Benign Gynecology Fellowship and Director of the Cleveland Clinic Endometriosis Center.Dr. Billow completed fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Mayo Clinic Arizona and previously served as Section Head of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University. Her scholarship focuses on surgical quality in endometriosis and complex benign gynecology, examining how subspecialty expertise and operative decision-making shape patient-centered outcomes. Her broader work evaluates the safety and value of minimally invasive approaches and uses outcomes research and evidence synthesis to advance more consistent, high-quality care.A national educator in endometriosis and complex gynecologic surgery, Dr. Billow has directed postgraduate courses for professional societies and teaches at national congresses, surgical workshops, webinars, and other educational forums. She mentors residents and fellows in advanced operative technique, surgical judgment, research, and career development. Her contributions to surgical education have been recognized with multiple institutional and national teaching awards, including honors from the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics and the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology.An active member of AAGL for more than a decade, Dr. Billow is the incoming Vice Chair of the AAGL Endometriosis/Reproductive Surgery Special Interest Group and has served on systematic review groups supporting the development of AAGL practice guidelines. She also serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology and previously served on the FMIGS Assessment Committee.
