Saturday, November 14, 2026
8:00 am - 10:00 am
Room: RM304
Chairs: Janelle Moulder, Ashley Gubbels

Description: This course explores the ways in which clinical practice design can enhance the patient care experience and improve timely access to high quality care. Beginning with the patient intake, we will examine selection of clinical questionnaires to provide both a comprehensive assessment and foster outcomes-driven research, while engaging the patient on their primary concerns. Next, we will evaluate smart health platforms and electronic medical record innovations to reduce barriers to and improve care for patients with chronic pelvic pain. By defining the roles of the physician-surgeon and advanced practice providers, we will analyze how integration of various advanced practitioners into a practice can improve a multidisciplinary approach to pelvic pain care in a surgical practice. Finally, improving access to care for pelvic pain starts with early diagnosis and raising awareness. We will highlight the importance of education and advocacy for patients and within the community, through the development of sustainable partnerships.
Learning Objectives: At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Describe how smart health platforms and EMR innovations are reducing barriers to care for patients with chronic pelvic pain;
- Analyze best practices for longitudinal outcome measures when developing a clinical practice and research program in pelvic pain; and
- Discuss development of multidisciplinary and community partnerships to improve the patient outcomes by raising awareness through advocacy.
