Tim Szilágyi Gémesi is a third-year resident physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University School of Medicine. Tim earned his M.D. from the Florida State University College of Medicine where he was inducted into both Alpha Omega Alpha and the Gold Humanism Honor Society, recognizing his clinical excellence and commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.During residency, Tim’s interests have evolved to include minimally invasive surgery and medical informatics. He recently authored a review paper titled “Minimally Invasive and Ablated Therapies for Symptomatic Uterine Fibroids,” which was accepted for publication in Current Opinion in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He was also the recipient of the Gold Humanism Honor Society’s Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award, which honors exceptional teaching and empathetic engagement with patients, families, and colleagues.Prior to entering medicine, Tim earned dual degrees in Vocal Performance and Cultural Anthropology from Oberlin College and Conservatory, where he trained as a classical singer. Outside the hospital, he enjoys learning German, attending the opera, and spending time with his partner, Carmen. Tim plans to pursue a career that combines advanced surgical care with medical education.At this year’s AAGL Global Congress, Tim will present a surgical video titled “Ovarian Tissue Cryopreservation for a Premenarchal Eight-Year-Old Prior to Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation,” highlighting fertility preservation in pediatric patients undergoing gonadotoxic treatment.
