Nucelio Lemos underwent his medical graduation, as well as his Gynecology Residency and his Urogynecology and Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) training and PhD in Gynecology in Sao Paulo Brazil. After that he a Fellowship in Neuropelveology in Zurich, Switzerland. Upon returning to São Paulo, in 2011, he founded the Pelvic Neurodysfunction Clinics of the Department of Gynecology of the Federal University of São Paulo, where he develops extensive research and teaching of all fields of Neuropelveology: treatment of Intrapelvic Nerve Entrapments and Neuropathic Pain of Intrapelvic Etiology; Knowledge Transfer in Nerve-Sparing Radical Pelvic Procedures (including endometriosis and pelvic malignancies); and rehabilitation of paraplegic patients through the Laparoscopic Implantation of Neuroprosthesis.He is past Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the International Continence Society (2013-2016), Founding Member and past Chairman of the Scientific and Education Committee of the Latin American Pelvic Floor Association (ALAPP; 2014-2019) and a former Director at Large of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL). In 2017, he was recruited by Mount Sinai and Women’s College Hospitals and the University of Toronto to bring advanced endometriosis surgical procedure, Neuropelveology and complex Urogynecologic surgery to Canada. Currently, Dr. Lemos is an international reference in all these areas, operating on the most complex endometriosis cases from all over the country, providing complex Urogynecologic procedures and management for their complications and the laparoscopic approach to intrapelvic nerve entrapments that were previously unavailable in Canada.
