Dr. Munro is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, a cofounder of FIGO's Committee on Menstrual Disorders and Related Health Impacts (MDRHI), and the founder and chair of the Women's Health Research Collaborative (WHrC). He received his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada, is certified by the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and was received into the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as a member "ad eundem". He has led the development of the FIGO Systems for AUB in the reproductive years, and, more recently, has played a major role in the development of the FIGO-IPPS R U MOVVING SOMe classification for causes of chronic pelvic pain recently published in the IJGO. Other areas of interest include iron deficiency and its relationship to HMB and the role of surgically induced endometrial trauma and its adverse impacts on fertility and pregnancy outcomes. He has published three textbooks, over 45 chapters, and more than 160 publications cited over 15,000 times in the peer-reviewed literature.
