Speaker Bio
Dr. Meghan McGrattan is a gynecologic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive and advanced pelvic surgery in Toronto, Canada. She completed her AAGL-accredited Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (FMIGS) at Mount Sinai and Women’s College Hospitals under the mentorship of internationally recognized leaders in the field and has developed a particular clinical and academic focus on nerve-sparing techniques for deep infiltrating endometriosis and complex pelvic anatomy. Dr. McGrattan’s research has contributed to evolving understandings of neuropelveology in gynecologic surgery. Along with her co-authors, she recently published a recent narrative review in The Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology proposing anatomical landmarks and terminology for nerve-sparing approaches, which was the journal’s most-read article of 2025. She has also presented widely on this topic, including original data on the Laparoscopic Nerve Sparing Ultralateral Resection (LaNSURe) technique for parametrial endometriosis, which has been featured at the International Continence Society, World Congress on Endometriosis, AAGL, and CanSAGE. In addition to her surgical practice, Dr. McGrattan is an accomplished medical educator, supervising trainees in surgical video production and publishing award-winning educational content recognized at AAGL, FIGO, and national Canadian meetings. Her broader academic work spans cesarean scar disorders, non-tubal ectopic pregnancies, and surgical management of Müllerian anomalies. Dr. McGrattan is currently completing a Master of Science in Global Health Policy at the University of Edinburgh, reflecting her long-standing interest in health systems, surgical equity, and policy interface. Her prior policy and advocacy work includes national campaigns with Resident Doctors of Canada and the Canadian Federation of Medical Students, as well as authorship in Healthy Debate and features in Reader’s Digest. She is honoured to return to the AAGL faculty to speak on innovations in nerve-sparing gynecologic surgery.
