Dr. Gallardo is a Specialist in Gynecology and Obstetrics, internationally recognized for his extensive experience and leadership in Gynecological Endoscopic Surgery and Robotic Surgery. His career has marked a turning point in the way surgical procedures are performed in Mexico, being a pioneer in minimally invasive techniques that today represent a standard of quality and safety for patients.From 1994 to 2011, Dr. Gallardo founded and directed the Gynecological Laparoscopic Surgery Clinic at the National Institute of Perinatology, where he established the foundations of minimally invasive gynecological surgery in the country. During these years, he trained generations of specialists. In 2006, he assumed the position of General Director of the Endometriosis and Laparoscopic Surgery Clinic at Hospital Ángeles Pedregal, where he strengthened comprehensive care for patients with complex gynecological diseases and developed specialized programs in advanced surgery. A key moment in his career came in 2014, when he became a pioneer of robotic surgery in Mexico, performing the first robot-assisted gynecological surgery in the country. This milestone not only represented a technological breakthrough, but also opened a new horizon in gynecological surgery, enabling procedures with greater precision, faster recovery, and lower risk for patients. That same year, he was appointed General Director of the “20 de Noviembre” National Medical Center at ISSSTE (2014–2017), a position from which he reinforced surgical infrastructure and the implementation of new technologies, benefiting thousands of patients. His prestige and leadership led him to serve as President of the Mexican Association of Robotic Surgery (2017–2019) and President of the Gynecology Chapter, consolidating his role as a leading authority in the use of robotics applied to women’s health. He currently continues as Professor of the Gynecological Endoscopic Surgery Course at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), based at Hospital Ángeles Pedregal, where he continues to train specialists committed to medical excellence.Throughout his career, Dr. Gallardo has combined clinical practice, teaching, and hospital management, always with a clear focus: providing patients with cutting-edge treatments with the highest standards of quality and safety.
