Professor Artur Ludwin, M.D., PhD, is a renowned obstetrics, gynecology, and gynecologic oncology specialist. His scientific research has gained international recognition in advanced surgical hysteroscopy procedures, treatment of congenital malformations of the reproductive tract, and gynecological ultrasonography. Prof. Ludwin introduced multiple original techniques of surgical hysteroscopy, developed new methods of contrast ultrasound (SonoHysteroAVC, 3D Sonovaginocervicography, HyLiFoSY), and described the management and prevention of intrauterine adhesions after surgical hysteroscopy procedures. Prof. Ludwin is the initiator of the CUME (Congenital Uterine Malformations by Experts) group, which brings together leading experts in the field of diagnostics and surgery of congenital malformations of the reproductive organ, which develops new criteria for the classification of congenital malformations of the uterus. The results of his research and the classification criteria of congenital malformations have been used, among others, in the development of the latest ASRM classification and guidelines for the management of septate uterus (2016), RCOG guidelines for congenital anomalies of the reproductive system (2019) and the ESHRE/ESGE consensus on the diagnosis of congenital anomalies of the reproductive system (2016). He is also a co-author of the ESHRE recommendations on the terminology for ectopic pregnancy (2020). Prof. Ludwin authored over 100 articles, the majority of which were published in Q1 journals in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is currently affiliated with the Medical University of Warsaw, where he serves as the Head of the 1st Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
