Dr. Montealegre is an OB/GYN and minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon with UT Physicians. He is an associate professor at The University of Texas McGovern School of Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences Division of Minimally Invasive Surgery where he is also Director of the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Fellowship. Dr. Montealegre completed his medical school education in Costa Rica at the Autonomous University of Central America. He completed his OB/GYN residency training at Tulane University in New Orleans and Methodist/St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, graduating in 2007. After 6 years in private practice, he joined The University of Texas McGovern School of Medicine in 2014. Dr. Montealegre is passionate about women's health and improving the delivery and outcomes of complex gynecologic surgery through minimally invasive techniques. He has devoted his practice to performing and teaching complex gynecologic surgery.
