Allison Mayhew, M.D., is an obstetrician and gynecologist who specializes in pediatric and adolescent gynecology. She is originally from Ohio where she attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She then completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Emory University in Atlanta before moving to Washington, D.C for fellowship in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology at the National Institutes of Health and Children’s National Medical Center. Dr. Mayhew is currently the Director of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. and serves at the Director of Gynecology for the collaborative Colorectal and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery team at Children's National. She has spoken nationally and internationally on complex pelvic reconstruction and management of congenital anomalies in children and teenagers. Her clinical interests include both common and complex gynecologic concerns in girls and young women, specifically management of congenital anomalies of the reproductive tract, pelvic masses, and endometriosis.
