Abstract
Study Objective: To demonstrate the technique for use of an endoscopic loop tie during laparoscopic cystectomy to minimize cyst spillage

Design: Video

Setting: Academic teaching hospital operating room

Patients or Participants: 38yo female who presented with pelvic pain and diagnosed with 15cm right ovarian dermoid cyst.

Interventions: Diagnostic laparoscopy, laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy

Measurements and Main Results: Successful removal of the large dermoid cyst with laparoscopic management of partial cyst wall rupture to minimize intraabdominal spillage of the cyst contents.

Conclusion: In this video, we review the basic laparoscopic techniques for cystectomy of a large ovarian cyst. We also demonstrate the use of an endoscopic loop tie to minimize cyst spillage when rupture of the cyst wall occurs.
