Abstract
-
Study Objective:
- To evaluate the navigation of complex Robotic Myomectomies for broad ligament and for low posterior uterine segment fibroids.
Design:
- Case series
Setting:
- Tertiary community hospital
Patients or Participants:
- 2 patients underwent laparoscopic myomectomies for image confirmed fibroids:
- A 38-year-old Gravida 0 with a right broad ligament fibroid
- A 37-year-old Gravida 3 Para 0030 low posterior fibroid
Interventions:
- Robotic myomectomies
Measurements and Main Results:
- Successful fertility-sparing robotic myomectomies without complications
Conclusion:
- It is important to independently review images prior to a myomectomy, rather than solely relying on a radiologist’s read.
- Comprehensive understanding of pelvic anatomy and optimal planning of initial incision of fibroids in atypical anatomical locations is key to a safe and successful surgical outcome.
