She is an Associate Professor of Ob/Gyn at the University of Chicago Medicine. She joined the University of Chicago after completing her fellowship training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at Columbia University/ New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr Laveaux is the Director of the Center for Advanced Treatment and Research (CATeR) for Uterine fibroids. She is a funded clinical researcher and is well published. Her research interests include the use of advanced imaging techniques to predict uterine fibroid growth rate and in the development of imaging and serum biomarkers to distinguish benign and malignant uterine tumors. She is also passionate about optimizing the current treatment options for uterine fibroids and investigating the effectiveness of long term non-hormonal treatments for secondary prevention of fibroids. She currently serves as the principal investigator for an investigator initiated clinical trial comparing outcomes in patients receiving Myfembree versus standard of care after undergoing surgical myomectomy.
