Dr. Jorge Carrillo is a renowned expert in Chronic Pelvic Pain (CPP) and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS). He earned his M.D. from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia, followed by an OBGYN residency at Rochester General Hospital and an AAGL-accredited fellowship in MIGS at the University of Rochester, with a specialized focus on CPP. Currently, Dr. Carrillo serves as a Professor of OBGYN at the University of Central Florida and is the Program Director for the MIGS Fellowship at the Orlando VA Healthcare System. A dedicated educator, he completed a Dean's Teaching Fellowship and earned a Master's in Health Professions Education from the University of Maastricht in 2025. As Chairman of the Board for the International Pelvic Pain Society (IPPS), Dr. Carrillo has served as Scientific Program Director for its Annual Meeting and Co-Director of the IPPS Clinical Foundations Course for several years. He is also among the first to hold the IPPS Pelvic Pain Specialty Designee title. By integrating adult learning theories into his work, Dr. Carrillo enriches the educational environment for clinicians and patients alike. His research and clinical interests remain centered on multidisciplinary CPP management and advancing medical education standards.
