Professor Ki-Eun Seon is a gynecologic oncologist and assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Inha University Hospital, Incheon, Korea. She specializes in the surgical and multidisciplinary management of gynecologic malignancies, with a particular focus on minimally invasive approaches such as robotic-assisted and single-port laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Seon completed her undergraduate education at Seoul National University and received her medical degree from the Inha University School of Medicine. She underwent residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Yonsei University Severance Hospital and subsequently completed a clinical fellowship and faculty appointment in gynecologic oncology at the same institution. Since 2024, she has been serving on the faculty at Inha University Hospital, where she contributes to clinical care, surgical education, and academic research. Her clinical and academic interests center on surgical staging and sentinel lymph node mapping in endometrial and ovarian cancers. Dr. Seon has authored several peer-reviewed publications on topics including robotic surgical staging in endometrial cancer, the clinical application of sentinel lymph node biopsy in early-stage ovarian cancer, and the accuracy of preoperative imaging in assessing endometrial cancer stage. Her work has been published in leading journals such as Scientific Reports, Journal of Robotic Surgery, Journal of Gynecologic Oncology, and Obstetrics & Gynecology Science. In recognition of her contributions to surgical innovation, Dr. Seon has received multiple awards, including the Best Surgical Film Award from the Korean Society of Gynecologic Endoscopy (2022), and both Best Surgical Film and Poster Awards from the Asian Society of Gynecologic Robotic Surgery (2023). She also received the Best Poster Award at the Women’s Biomedical Science Research Institute Annual Conference (2023). Dr. Seon is an active member of the Korean Society of Gynecologic Oncology and the Korean Society of Gynecologic Endoscopy. Through her clinical practice and academic engagement, she continues to advance the standard of care for patients with gynecologic cancers while contributing to the dissemination of innovative surgical techniques in Korea and abroad.
