Dr. Jennifer McCall is a Minimally Invasive Gynecology fellow at the University of Ottawa/The Ottawa Hospital. She has a passion for and interest in complex surgical care, particularly of endometriosis and fibroids, and for serving patients who have been historically marginalized, including Black, Indigenous, queer and trans, and obese people. She has been honoured with many awards throughout her training, including The Peak's 2024 Class of Emerging Leaders, Resident Achievement Award (Professional Association of Residents of Ontario), Resident Teaching Award (Queen's University), Canadian Society for Clinical Investigation Canadian Institutes of Health Research Resident Research Prize, Beatrice & Harold Cohen Prize in Medical Ethics, Michael and Betty Dicketts Scholarship in Medicine, and a Physicians' Services Incorporated Foundation Resident Research Grant for $29, 500.   Dr. McCall has a Master in Health Management from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario and completed her medical school and residency at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario after her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Hispanic Languages at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. She is the proud former Chair of the Board of Directors at the Sexual Assault Centre in Kingston, a non-profit organization providing support to and advocacy for Survivors of sexual assault with an annual budget of more than one million dollars. Her recent publications include "Impostor Phenomenon and Impact on Women Surgeons: A Canadian Cross-Sectional Survey" in the Journal of American College of Surgeons and "Therapeutic journey of adolescents and young adults with severe dysmenorrhea and endometriosis" in the Journal of Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Disorders.    Dr. McCall is thrilled to be presenting her surgical video on laparoscopic management of a liver endometrioma at AAGL this year and welcomes you to speak to her about your ideas on improving health care for our patients if you have overlapping interests!
