Dr. Katie de Souza is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine where she maintains a high volume surgical practice and serves as the Associate Program Director of the MIGS Fellowship and Director of Simulation for the Obstetrics/Gynecology Residency Program. She completed her medical degree at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, VA, her obstetrics/gynecology residency at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, and her MIGS fellowship at Creighton University School of Medicine in Phoenix, AZ. Her clinical practice focuses on surgical management of endometriosis, fibroids, and complex benign gynecologic pathology using laparoscopic, vaginal, and robotic approaches. Her professional and research interests include strategies in graduate and post graduate medical education, clinical implications of endometriosis staging systems, disparities in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and innovations in surgical techniques.
