Speaker Bio
Dr. Barbaresso is a Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon and Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology with advanced fellowship training in the management of complex gynecologic conditions. She earned her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baystate Medical Center. She subsequently completed a rigorous fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at the University of Louisville, where she received comprehensive training in advanced laparoscopic surgery, as well as education on ultrasound modalities for diagnosing gynecologic conditions. During fellowship, Dr. Barbaresso was heavily exposed to the use of ultrasound for the diagnosis of endometriosis, as well as it's utilization for surgical planning of deep infiltrating disease. She recognizes ultrasound as a valuable, accessible, and cost-effective tool that can facilitate earlier diagnosis and more precise management of endometriosis and adenomyosis, particularly when incorporated into a multidisciplinary care model. In addition to her clinical work, she remains actively engaged in research and medical education, mentoring trainees and advocating for health equity and improved access to advanced gynecologic care for diverse patient populations.
