Dr. Marina de Paula Andres earned her Master’s and PhD degrees from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of São Paulo (USP), where she also completed her residency in Gynecology and medical formation. Since 2014, her clinical and academic career has been dedicated to the comprehensive care of women with endometriosis, combining advanced clinical practice, complex surgical management, and ongoing research in the field. She currently serves as Associate Director of the AAGL Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Fellowship Program at Hospital Beneficência Portuguesa de São Paulo, one of the largest and most respected training programs in Latin America. In this role, she works closely with fellows to advance surgical skills, foster academic growth, and promote high standards of patient care. She is also the Medical Coordinator of the PROADI Women’s Health Project at the same institution, where she develops initiatives that expand access to quality gynecologic care and support national health system improvements. Throughout her career, she has focused on advancing the understanding and treatment of endometriosis, with an emphasis on improving patient quality of life through evidence-based surgical and clinical strategies. Her research has contributed to the growing body of knowledge on recurrent surgeries, pain outcomes, and disease progression. She is actively engaged in mentoring fellows and young surgeons, with a strong commitment to training the next generation of leaders in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. In addition to her academic and hospital work, Dr. Andres coordinates a medical mission trip with medical students to remote areas of Brazil, bringing essential gynecologic care to underserved communities. This experience reflects her deep commitment not only to surgical innovation but also to equitable access to women’s health services.
