General Session II
11:00am - 12:00pm

Course Description:
MIGS surgeons are on the forefront of surgical innovation, often modifying or creating the techniques that allow us to solve complex problems in ways that minimize the impact on patients. What we do can be challenging and is not without the risk of complications. In this presentation, each surgeon will reflect on an unforgettable complication, discuss what they might have done differently in retrospect, how they talked with the patient / patient’s family and dealt with the consequences, and, importantly, the impact the experience had on them as a surgeon.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to: 1) Appreciate how reflection on complications can be an opportunity for self-learning and professional development; and 2) Examine the consequences of complications that extend far beyond the impact on the patient.
