Name
Panel 9 - Adenomyosis
Date & Time
Tuesday, November 19, 2024, 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Description

This panel discussion will center around recent evidence that suggests adenomyosis is a major contributor to negative fertility and pregnancy outcomes such as implantation failure, recurrent miscarriage and premature delivery. The panel will focus on proposed mechanisms of this pathophysiology as well as treatment options such as hormonal suppression, hysteroscopic resection and adenomyosis resection by laparotomy or laparoscopy (robotic). The surgical risks and reproductive outcomes will stimulate a lively discussion among the faculty and audience.

Learning Objectives: After attending this session, the participant will be able to: 1) Recognize the proposed mechanisms of adenomyosis and infertility; 2) Identify the advantages and limitations of adenomyosis imaging for diagnosis; and 3) Demonstrate an understanding of tools available for treating adenomyosis in patients suffering from implantation failure and poor reproductive outcomes.
