Sophia N. Palmer,M.D. is a fellowship trained surgeon and sonologist who has practiced in the Bronx, NY since completing her Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery fellowship in 2009 at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Palmer joined the faculty, at Montefiore, where she was actively involved in resident and medical student education. She held positions as the Director of Gynecology, ambulatory Medical Director and Medical Student Clerkship Director at the Wakefield campus. During her OB/GYN residency, she rotated though Jacobi Medical Center, which is a public tertiary care hospital and Level 1 trauma center in the Bronx. Jacobi is a part of the New York City public Health and Hospitals Corporation, which serves diverse, vulnerable populations, many of whom are uninsured. Since August 2023, she has served as the Director of Gynecology, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and Advanced Gynecologic Ultrasound at Jacobi Medical Center. Dr. Palmer maintains her academic affiliation with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and is committed to providing her community with compassionate, patient-centered, high-quality care.
