Course Description
Neuropelveology represents a paradigm shift in the understanding, diagnosis, and surgical management of complex pelvic pain syndromes. This course focuses on intrapelvic nerve entrapments with particular emphasis on sacral plexus endometriosis—a challenging and often underdiagnosed condition with significant impact on patient outcomes.
Through a transatlantic faculty representing both AAGL and ESGE expertise, participants will be introduced to core principles of neuropelveological assessment, followed by practical, stepwise strategies to approach initial cases of sacral plexus endometriosis. Laparoscopic and robotic surgical techniques will be presented, highlighting indications, technical nuances, and decision-making pathways. The course is designed to be practical, innovative, and complementary to prior AAGL and ESGE congress content.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the core principles underlying the diagnosis and management of intrapelvic nerve entrapments from a neuropelveology perspective.
- Identify and plan surgical strategies for sacral plexus endometriosis, including considerations for surgeons performing their first cases.
- Compare laparoscopic and robotic approaches for sacral plexus endometriosis, recognizing indications, advantages, and technical challenges of each modality.
