This course will offer surgeons with minimally invasive experience the opportunity to review current and evolving treatment options for women with fibroids, as it relates to feasibility, sustainability, and fertility. The course will focus on the current evidence available for traditional and novel therapeutics, including the newer FDA-approved technologies. The course will discuss best practices and ways to optimize fertility care and overcome challenging clinical situations for the various fibroid treatment options that will be covered. The course will also dig into the future directions for research for next generation therapeutics. This course applies to the global AAGL audience and offers techniques aimed to promote and sustain safe and successful minimally invasive fibroid treatment.

Learning Objectives: At the end of this course, the participant will be able to: 1)Discuss the various traditional and novel therapeutics and ascertain who may be the best candidates for each option; 2) Develop a strategy to counsel patients regarding fertility outcomes after RFA/UAE; 3) Apply techniques to optimize fertility at the time of myomectomy and to prevent fertility complications; 4) Utilize optimal surgical preparation and techniques to push the envelope during minimally invasive myomectomy; and 5) Explore current and future directions in fibroid research through collaborations with basic science and translational research experts.
